Try me again

Try wipe the blank stare off your face,
See if it leaves a better version of my swollen cheeks,
Go take the coins that have holed my pockets,
See if you can mend my life and my trouser's,
Try jibe me with the times the world conspired against me,
And if it drains the rage boiling in your head,
See it fit that i too get a chance twice as you,
Try hide all the niceties that make up my hobbies,
And if that act fills you up with satisfaction,
See to it that the empty shell in me is forgiven,
Try bid me farewell this time round,
See if you can scribble a note for once,
Under the bed, take the notebook i have penned for you,
In there you'll find my swan song to you.

Adieu, Oh bottled one!

When your belts start to look like snakes,
Dancing away the night breeze in your wardrobe,
When your heap of clad looks like an overgrown cat,
The shiny buttons glowing to resemble the beasts eyes,
And the bed switch seems a mile away to save you,
My brother, its time to say no to the bottle.

Days Gone by

The sand has lost its place,
No longer does it shape the desert,
Nor bask at the shiny beach,
The sand castles have fallen too,
Together with the children,
Time has changed their fate,
So long are the days, when,
It was a child's world, earth,
And gone are the days, when,
Such poetry would make CENTS!

The Untimed Rendezvous

My head hesitates as i try to spin my neck,
To steal that one glance to a distant journey,
One trip to the days that have lost a place in me,
Days of yore i hate to reminisce, mixed with joy,
Every look at her captures me with a grip,
That holds my conscience, and my memory freezes,
She stands there alone, in her own quest for life,
With her timid face i try to search for such bravery,

My inner self keeps shunning me from that past,
But still i turn to steal a glance at her,
The world seems so small, she gazes at the unseen,
Her innocence speaks for her first, i don't know the rest,
She too cares less, nature balances for the harmless,
I make sure our eyes never meet, i am a scared man,
The fear that she will see a link between us,
Is making me nervous yet greatly inspired,

For one last time i pull the courage again,
Once again i steal that precious glance at her,
One last time before i board for home,
These are memories i want to keep so fresh in me,
Hoping that they may push me in this life,
My life is becoming complicated, far from the past,
Not sure of when i'll meet my past again, i turn,
This time she was gone. With all that she had.

Only the Lovely

There are days when we stop time,
And the sun still fails to shine enough,
To brighten that day,

There are days we fail ourselves,
And form dark moments with not enough clouds,
To stop the tears of joy,

There are times i crave for a pen,
And fail to commit my heart to a worthy paper,
To say just who you are to me,

There are times we travel far away,
And never far as my dreams have fetched for you,
To tire me out and say no more,

There are moments i doubt reality,
And my life feels worth living more than once,
To meet you in the next life, dear,

There are moments i want to cherish,
And keep them safe in the holiest grail ever,
To have kept the sweetest of moments.

Can't be any better [Madness version]

Have you seen the rain?
As it pounds the dusty dust,
Changing colour just as a proof of point?
Have you seen it,the crystal vacuum?
Right among a million of them and shining.

And the star, did you see it?
Right in the middle of the galaxy?
There were children too,you saw them?
Standing next to you at two feet tall,
But the children counted the stars!

The Love, did you learn its etiquette?
That you should always chew but never swallow?
Hot as it was, did it mean anything to you?
All along you have been in love, yes indeed,
It just took you more time to taste it.

Has your life ever been so real?
Even now that its ransomed, was it yours?
You think its worth all the fight for nothing?
Its time you let it go, and all of it,let it go,
Just count the stars, love more and chew dust.

The Twilight Melody

The last notes of the melody were still echoing,
Once again the twilights had witnessed a fall,
The calm nightly breeze epitomized the grim-reaper,
Of the six lifists, two lived to tell the sorry tale,
The third of the crowd lived but not to be seen again,
On the sixth hour of the night, death came calling,
Thats when the fourth of the six proved his loyalty,
Only to be too late, Number five was already gone,
The alley lost company as soon as the scuffle ensued,
On such nights no one cared how and where home was,
The same time the sixth of the six tried call home,
One last time for her to call for help, all in vain,
That was same time the phone rang, the sad melody.

Breach of Death

He sat there deep in a gaze,
Pursuing dreams while wide awake,
His precious final hours, daydreaming,
After marrying and later divorcing the books,
He had got his dream job where he never slept,

He now believes he's the author,
Of the life that he's about to lose,
He has authored other people's books instead,
In their hearts they lack words to express him,
But this role of a model is coming to an end,

I pray that his books may prosper,
More than his life given a second chance,
With every word he could feel the quill dry,
Page after page he watched the paper fade away,
An unpublished book.He died a very lonely man.

..Still in their Midst

There are steps now the son has taken,
Where they lead, i want to know not,
Those i have betrayed are lost forever,
In slow strides i want to the ease pain,
I'll hide in their midst till you come,

There's some poetry i don't read anymore,
Where the passion has gone, i crave to know,
Those uninspired have sought dead legends,
In poems now i want something greater than hate,
I'll hide in their midst till you come,

There is a road that i don't use anymore,
Where it took us, is a memory that haunts,
Those who tread it call it the love street,
In utter days i pass by,hoping to see you,
I'll hide in their midst till you come,

There are some love games i hate to play now,
What they taught similar to the art of war,
Those few familiar with it say its forbidden,
In this puzzle of love and lust, am lost alone,
I'll hide somewhere in the maze till you come.

Not a closed case, Not yet

She had this gaze...much like the hackneyed birds of prey,
Her ambiance was bewitching...much like a charmed one,
All the soulful songs jammed my head in her presence,
Inspiring love, love once alive, she left me petrified,

I preferred a bird's eye view of the extreme beauty,
She cherished her own company, thin suites her favorite,
Her hair-style seemed like a complement to her lifestyle,
Every step in her walk seemed a complex math, only her solved,

Her life she held in high esteem, keeping me far at bay,
She fed me fantasies, my guts could not swallow her pride,
I still preferred a bird's eye view, of a body exquisite,
There are some sweet things, i say, that are better not tasted,

Somethings too i would love to keep as secrets, myself to bury,
Her world she clouded with mystery, her beauty with a smile,
I just wish i knew her secrets, hoping against all hope,
That way i would know her weakness, her mystery...demystified.

Right to Fight

Am in a fight with them,
All that have lost their hope,
And have let their buttons lose,
They have scattered seeds of death,
Carnations sprout, and we laid wreath!

Am in a fight with them,
All that have faked love,
And have trespassed my innocense,
Running away with pieces of my heart,
Scared of love, and tonight am going out!

Am in a fight with them,
All that have sold my country,
And have made my future a bounty,
The same old cars coming in new rims,
With no future, but i still have dreams!

Am in a fight with them,
All who have failed to say this,
And now that i have said it, guess,
That they spread a word or maybe back-bite,
A distressed persona, I over-sleep to date!!

Not for long, Dear

I have seen the troubled eyes as you smile,
The watery eyes as you pulled a hearty laugh,
The walls too have told so many of your sorrows,
Your face not short of epics of a sad tale,
I have seen the priest too at your place,

The sun is left with no rays to cast on you,
Not with the veil of misery on your face,
Everyday it dawns with a dark scarlet, a spell,
As the neon-lit alleys pack with neo-termites,
The stars will stare, as the moon dims with grim,

Not for long dear, mama sent me last night,
She is still worried of her rose in the city,
If it is more than a struggle, she wants you back,
She wants you back, now that you was in Prime News,
At least there she has place for you, only you,

O ooh!Dear, your children too crave for you,
Each night they talk of the city, by the fireplace,
they praise the neon-lights under the moonlight,
Grandma tells a story as they drink the goat-milk,
Tomorrow, she'll be traveling to the city, Alone.

Let him Know

Since i showered you with love,
You have sweetly tasted the bad fruit,
All have now taken the wrong path,
As you walk the aisle, let him know,
Let it scream out your lungs,

I have missed the lunch-date,
But i know you wasn't there,
Only i knew where you were,
Let him not know, where you go,
Let the death-sheet keep the secret,

If anyone else saw my tears,
They flowed down your cheeks,
Of one of the times we spent,
Let it be a guess, just that,
As you bless a night with bliss,

I have my own aisle to walk,
That of anguish and great despair,
If not in the search for answers,
Just to let you know, yes indeed,
That the sun still shines for me.

Her Song

She don't sing the song anymore,
From the days she would overdress me,
My feet with the tightly knit socks,
My head with the woolen helmet 'Boshori',
'Twas the days thunderstorms terrified,

She would sing and hum the lullaby,
To wave the little me away,
With a smile, she watched me slumber,
With a kiss, she laid me on the rest,
'Twas her and me against the world,

Now that the song is dead, all is lost,
As i mourn, We mourn, She mourned,
She watched me play, from the veranda,
She heard me sing, alone under the tree,
'Twas the last days of the song, she knew.

The Phoenix

The light had darkened their scrolls,
The more things whitened, the worse, and,
As forefathers admonished in poems and poems,
A conjecture was to shape the worlds' destiny,
...the phoenix had started its journey.

The lemonade was no longer reserved,
Everyone had tried the lemons...a daily dose,
Some say they saw him in the riverside village,
He rode on a stampeding calvary, heading west,
No, no, only the phoenix was to bring the savior.

The ancient prophecy was now unfolding,
Slowly the dark scarlet swallowed up the day,
The heads had gathered, only the fealty,
Ahead in-time to herd them westwards,
It was time,(sigh) the phoenix had come.

Goodnight to the Day

Like an ending song,
Silence slowly fills the air,
Light too, paves way for darkness,
They all lived in a nest of hate,
Cohabit, and their eggs have hatched,
Dark,cute little hatelets,
As it darkens, they prowl and wail,
Liken it to a song of freedom,
A day they have proclaimed lies,
And now, similar nest is expectant,
Though am not sure what hatch will be,
The dark ones will spread the shadow,
And their allies will swear again,
..their fealty with love,
But all is say is goodnight,
Goodnight for my love, after all,
She is all i care for.

The Dream

'Twas dusk when they came,
They panted like runaway hounds,
I slowed and stood agape by the alley,
Death is what i waited for,
" it is your destiny",he pulled out the heckler,
Placed it on my palm, heavy as death itself,
As the sirens blared the whole alley...
Everyone was scattering, i scattered,a heckler in my hand,
I had a life to shield,
I had turned into a target myself,
'Twas little too late,
I saw death in a dream,
It only lived to be a dream,
Just as i wished.
